Jurassic Toy Fair recap

It was one year ago that Mattel revealed its Jurassic World line for the first time at the Toy Fair, which takes place annually in New York City.

This year Mattel returned with their Jurassic World toys and had a few new things to show.

Our friends over at Collect Jurassic and the Jurassic Park Podcast were there to report all the novelties.

The Dino Rivals line introduced the repainting of Stegosaurus and Suchomimus, the first large dinosaurs that were reissues with a new layer of paint. It looks like there will be more repaints coming later this year, including one of the recently released Concavenator and the Baryonyx. There’s also a repainted Tricetatops that looks quite similar to that of Kenner’s unreleased Trike from 1997.

The show stealer at the Mattel’s Toy Fair booth is without a doubt the Destroy ‘n Devour Indominus Rex. She was a highly anticipated dinosaur and boy did Mattel deliver. She’s packed with lots of great action features and sound effect, putting Hasbro’s version to shame.

The biggest Jurassic surprise (literally) is the reveal of the Super Colossal Velociraptor “Blue”. She’s similar to the Colossal T-Rex and has a mouth that can manually open er close.

Other toys from Mattel are the Primal Pal Blue toy and a series of small, cute looking dinosaurs called Snap Squad.

The Legacy Brachiosaurus and Battle Damage Plesiosaurus that Mattel teased last week were not on display at the Toy Fair because they are store-specific exclusives.

But it doesn’t end here! LEGO (out of the “Blue”), revealed four new sets and a short animated series called Legend of Isla Nublar. What a time to be a Jurassic fan!

  1. I would like Mattel so much:
    -a Tarbosaurus based on “Thrash ‘n Throw T-Rex” or “Extreme Chompin’ T-Rex” with some modifications: the tail not short, a narrower skull and smaller feet
    -deinonychus based on the velociraptor “Battle Damage” “Attack Pack” and others with some modifications: the head a little larger, the jaws a little longer and less bulging on the sides and feet smaller.
    -Utahraptor based on the indoraptor “super posable”, “Grab ‘n Growl Indoraptor” or “Lockwood Ultimate Battle Set” where there is just to change hands and head,
    – Sibo Mountain Volcano with a width of 30 to 50 centimeters, sarcosuchus, deinosuchus or purussaurus, skeleton of Apatosaurus STEM, N622DC plane from Jurassic Park 3,
    -N522RS, N293G, and Wessex helicopter exactly as in the Jurassic Park III Dino Defender and Jurassic Park III Danger Zone video games.
    -Perfect blue character from the 6-inch Jurassic Collector series, all the details, such as the size of the feet and the head, are highly respected. I hope so much that they will do the same with the t-rex of Jurassic World, The Lost World and JP3, and also with the JP3 male velociraptor, where they will simply have to change their color, change their heads and add thorns. or protoplums behind the head.
    -Guns: Franchi SPAS-12 with folding stock and the same functions of introduction and ejection of cartridges,
    -Searcy Double Barrel Rifle with the same functions of opening, introducing and ejecting cartridges;
    -After the “Alpha Training Blue”, I hope so much that they will do the same for the t-rex, taking care to respect the details: like the smaller feet, the jaws not too short but a little longer, scars, eyes located from the front, and the remote control would look like a flare.
    -Amber piece Jurassic Park playset;
    -a skull of a Velociraptor Playset with the resonance chamber of a velociraptor emitting these same sounds by blowing as in JP3;
    -For “Extreme Chompin ‘T-Rex” and “STEM Anatomy T-Rex Kit” less big feet, less sharp jugal bones, and a little more tail long;
    -For the super colossal tyrannosaurus rex, just slightly longer jaws, and a slightly more detailed dewlap connecting the lower jaw and neck.
    -For the mini-dinosaurs t-rex: shorter feet, jaws a little longer.
    -For the t-rex and Blue of “Mini Dinos 15 combat packages”: only the shortest feet.
    -For the velociraptor figures of “Battle Damage” “Attack Pack” and others: the head a little larger, jaws a little longer and less bulging on the sides and feet smaller.
    -For the mosasaurus FNG24: the body a little longer, the tail longer and higher profile.
