Jurassic Park Triceratops (2009)

Jurassic Park Triceratops (2009)

Hasbro re-realesed its Jurassic Park III dinosaurs once again with a new colour scheme.  Of all the repainted Jurassic Park dinosaurs lines, this is probably my favourite, with the Triceratops being in my top 3 of repainted dinosaurs. The colours on this Triceratops are bright, with green and grey tones on its body. It’s head crest has an almost metallic blue colour with red/orange markings. The sound effects are identical to the ones from the original Jurassic Park III version.

Jurassic World Hero Mashers

Jurassic World Hero Mashers

These Hero Mashers by Hasbro are the latest additions to my collection. I was able to purchase these (once again) at the ‘Kruidvat’ drugstore chain here in Belgium for just 4.99 EUR each.  I got 2 Velociraptors in red and grey colors, an Ankylosaurus and a Parasaurolophus. I already owned the Dimorphodon set which I purchased last year in Florida. The only reason why I bought these was because they were that cheap. I remember seeing them priced at 17.99 EUR back in 2015. I would never pay that much for this toy line that hardly has any resemblance to…

Jurassic World Dino Hybrid Carnoraptor

Jurassic World Dino Hybrid Carnoraptor

Carnoraptor is yet another slightly altered dinosaur from the Jurassic World Bashers & Biters line.  This “hybrid” combines the Velociraptor and the ever popular Carnotaurus. The idea sounds neat and the model that’s featured on the back of the package looks kinda ok.  The final figure however does not look as good. It looks a lot bulkier, not as sleek or menacing, especially the head sculpt. The snout is too short, for both raptor and Carnotaurus. The paint job uses too many read. This would have been a great opportunity to bring back the original paint scheme of the Jurassic Park…

Re-Ak At-Ak T-Rex

Jurassic Park III T-Rex

When the Jurassic Park III toys were released, I never really cared much for the Re-Ak At-Ak T-Rex. Maybe because it was such a departure from the Kenner style dinosaurs that were released for the previous toy lines. However, when I got a loose copy in a bigger lot, I started to appreciate this sculpt a bit better.  The T-Rex features the Re-Ak At-Ak action, meaning when you push the button in its neck, its mouth will open and a roar will sound. When you push the button its wound, another sound can be heard. The colours kind off match those…

Jurassic World Dino Hybrid Dilophosaurus Rex

Jurassic World Dino Hybrid Dilophosaurus Rex

Hands down the Dilophosaurus Rex is Hasbro’s weirdest Jurassic Park-themed toy EVER. If you thought the T-rex from the “Bashers and Biters” line was awful, well take a look at this monstrosity. Is there anything good about this figure? I guess not, it has a terrible sculpt, jerky action, and a horrible, horrible paint job. What’s up with the shiny gold Hasbro? A hybrid combining a Dilophosaurus and T-Rex could have been epic, but they seriously messed up by using that Basher & Biters sculpt and just stick a frill on it. If you felt bad for Hasbro for loosing the JP…

Jurassic Park III: Raptor Attack Playset

Jurassic Park III Raptor Attack Playset

The Raptor Attack Playset is a repaint of the Jurassic Park Command Compound gate, fences and weaponry.  It comes with 2 exclusive figures: Alan Grant and a Velociraptor.  Both are repaints from the Jurassic Park III Raptor Motorcycle Pursuit set. The Jurassic Park gate (although not featured in the Jurassic Park III movie) is this time painted, unlike the original Command Compound version. It features an aged wooden look with hints of red. The fences are painted metalic silver and not grey/blue like the original ones. Since I won’t open my boxed Jurassic Park items, I’ll show some close-ups from…

Jurassic Park III Dino Dex

Jurassic Park III - Dino Dex

Forget about the Pokédex from the hit series Pokémon. Because back in 2001 there was the Dino Dex by Tiger/Hasbro. I never tried it, but according to the package it “contains detaled information and graphic animations on over 70 dinosaurs”.  There are 2 games:  Battle Dome in which you “go head-to-head in a fight-to-the-death against another dinosaur” and the DNA Lab which will let you create your own hybrid dinosaurs. The Dino Dex is also an organiser that lets you store name and phone numbers, notes and there’s a calculator on there as well.

Jurassic Park III Paul Kirby and Stegosaurus

Jurassic Park III Paul Kirby

Paul Kirby is an action figure from the Jurassic Park III toy line. He was part of the wave 2 release along Alan Grant with Compies and the generic Military Diver with Spinosaurus. The Jurassic Park III toy line was released under the Hasbro banner, dumping the Kenner branding along with the traditional Jurassic Park look, feel and scale. Paul Kirby resembles William H. Macy likeness, but is lacking his trademark mustache. His pose is very awkward, it took me some time to get him standing without falling over. The Stegosaurus is kinda surprising.  All the other dinosaurs that came…

Jurassic World Velociraptor 4-Pack

This Velociraptor pack was sold in the US as a Target exclusive. The Blue figure was not released before and features a light up skin pattern by using the included LED light. The other 3 raptors, dubbed “Titan Raptors”, were released separately all over the world. They sparked an out cry among Jurassic Park and dinosaur fans because they are lacking their famous toe claws. The new Blue figure is lacking this as well. I got this set, among a lot of other JW stuff, during my visit to Orlando earlier this year. It surprised me how big this box…
