eBay
guide for buyers

1)
Jurrassic Park
What to look for? The most common search used is of course : “jurassic
park”. But not every seller knows how to spell it correctly. So don’t
forget to look sometimes at “jurrassic park”, “jurasic park”
or “jurrasic park”. Not many collectors think of that, and good
deals can be easily found like that.
2)
"Title and descriptions"
Don’t forget to use the “Title and descriptions” option. Sometimes,
the seller give the full name of the product in the title, but forgets to put
“jurassic park” on it.
3)
Saving money
When you’re interested in a particular item, try to ask fellow collectors
what price it usually go for, and how common it is (or look for completed auctions).
You can save a lot of money like that.
4)
"Buy-it-now"
Always look at the “Buy-It-Now” auctions. Sometimes, people sell
hard-to-find toys at a very low price when they’re unaware of the item’s
value. But don’t wait to long, another collector could buy it before you
do.
5)
"Will ship to US only"
If you live outside the U.S. and you find an auction with “Will ship to
US only” , don’t think everything is lost. Most of the time, when
asked kindly, the seller will agree to ship overseas. It’s a matter of
luck…
6)
Patience
You found an interesting auction, and you’re ready to bid on it. STOP!
Bidding and bidding again will do nothing but raise the price of the item. The
best thing to do is to wait the last day or the last hours to bid on it.
7)
Sniping
Some people use a method called “sniping”. It consists of waiting
and bidding at the 10 or 15 last seconds to avoid another person to outbid you
later. It’s a matter of timing, but be aware that if your bid isn’t
high enough, you’ll never have the time to bid again. Use this method
at your own risks…
8)
Read carefully
Never forget to read the description very carefully before bidding. Sometimes,
the picture shows an item that seems to be MIB, but the description states “opened
only once for display,…”. It’ll save you a lot of trouble
with unwanted items.
9)
Retractions
When you bid, be careful not to put $100 instead of $10, or simply be sure to
have enough money. Bid retractions aren’t allowed all the time by eBay.
So be sure you really want the item and that you won’t change your mind
later.
10)
Feedback
There’s nothing more rude than someone that doesn’t leave feedback.
So, please, when you’ve received your item, never forget to leave feedback
to the seller. You’d expect him to do the same to you...
